The optical fiber microphone system was composed of optical fiber microphone, transmission optical fiber, photoelectric conditioning module, audio cable, power supply, etc. Its audio output was based on the analog output of standard audio line without any additional preamplifier. Each fiber-optic microphone was individually calibrated during fabrication to achieve consistent performance.
Basic working principle:
The basic working principle of the optical fiber sensor was that the light-emitting diode was used as the light source and the optical fiber was incident on the vibrating diaphragm with metal coating. When the sound signal vibrates the diaphragm, the incident light was modulated by the diaphragm vibration and reflected. The receiving optical fiber received the reflected light and could be restored to the acoustic signal after demodulation.
